The Draft North Central Coast MPA Monitoring Plan has been prepared by the MPA Monitoring Enterprise, in close collaboration with the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), scientists, and stakeholders. It is intended as guidance for DFG and others who will be involved in conducting or supporting MPA monitoring in the North Central Coast region. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the MLPA, including assessing the performance of the regional MPA network in meeting MLPA goals, regional goals and objectives, and site-level objectives. Following receipt of public comments, the plan will be revised and submitted to the California Fish and Game Commission.
The draft plan is available for download on the MPA Monitoring Enterprise website, at http://www.calost.org/monitoring_ent.html. You may also request a CD containing the draft plan by sending an email with your name and mailing address to mpamonitoring@calost.org. Reference printed copies of the plan will be available at select DFG offices, public libraries, and other outlets by Friday, November 20, 2009; a complete list of these locations is also available on the MPA Monitoring Enterprise website. A very limited number of additional printed copies of the draft plan is also available, and may be requested by sending an email to mpamonitoring@calost.org.
